One bright, sunny morning as we were ramping up for another busy day at Banner Systems, the phone rang at just a few minutes before 8 a.m. The caller identified herself as an employee of a store at our local Mall.
Actually, it was the store where one of our sales reps took a second job and the caller remembered where she worked. There was a bit of panic in her voice, as she explained that apparently the night before, the last of the toilet tissue on the dispenser had been used, leaving an empty core.
Since no one replaced the empty roll, they were unaware that the entire tissue stock was depleted … until that moment in the morning.
With no spare rolls, the store was completely without this much needed commodity with just an hour before the doors were to open.
Although they were not a customer, the caller was hoping she could purchase the needed toilet tissue from Banner.
Within the hour, the toilet tissue was delivered just minutes before the store opened for business.
