FAQ – Is there a way to fix toilet bowl acid drip on a Formica counter top?

According to the experts at International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN), this kind of accident is almost impossible to fix.  As they remark, “The Formica website warns us, DO NOT use cleaners nor compounds containing strong acids or strong bases on laminate surfaces.  These may mar, etch, corrode and/or permanently discolor or damage laminate surfaces.

However, they do have a recommendation.  Try masking the damage by applying lemon oil or self-stripping waxes.
