Farmers almanac 2013 map screen shotIt’s not too early for facility maintenance managers to plan for winter snow and weather and many believe Farmer’s Almanac is the best predictor of winter weather.

In fact, over the years, the Farmers’ Almanac has been 75% – 85% accurate in its weather predictions.

So what is in store for this winter? According to the Farmer’s Almanac and this local TV interview, the Boston area will be colder this winter than normal, and have a mixture of snow, sleet, and rain. Farmer’s Almanac has “red marked” the dates of February 12 – 25 and March 20 – 25 for a high likelihood of snow storms.

They also caution that we should “look out for December,” as high levels of snow are anticipated.
