Ever find yourself running terribly short on time, needing a product, rushing to pick it up, only to get caught in the dreaded traffic jam? As you sit in the highway parking lot, you see the minutes ticking away as you frantically try to figure out your options as you realize you will not make it in time.
At Banner Systems, we understand the Boston traffic as well as the need to absolutely, positively “have to have” a product onsite the next day. It is not uncommon for our customers to pick-up orders at our warehouse when they cannot wait for a scheduled delivery.
So, when we fielded a call just minutes from closing time, from a customer en-route to our warehouse for such a need but stuck in traffic, we understood his predicament. We all knew there was no way he would make it to our door in time, so we quickly implemented a “Taking Work Home with Us” strategy.
One of our employees lives near our warehouse. So, we contacted our warehouse to stay open long enough for our employee to get there. He drove over to the warehouse and packed his car with the much-needed product that was packaged and waiting for him. In the interim, we provided directions to the customer on how to find our employee’s house.
Our customer eventually made it to our employee’s driveway and transferred the much needed product into his car.
Did he stay for dinner, too? Don’t know, but it didn’t matter, as disaster the next day had been averted.
